At Voluntary Action for Development (VAD), our mission is to empower vulnerable communities in Uganda to achieve lasting self-sufficiency and dignity. We are driven by the following core values:

Poverty Reduction

We support economic empowerment through income-generating projects, improved livelihoods, and enhanced agricultural productivity—giving families the tools they need to rise out of poverty.

Community-Led Development

We believe in the power of communities. Our work is rooted in local participation, advocacy, and capacity-building to ensure that solutions are homegrown and sustainable.

Access to Clean Water & Sanitation (WASH)

We improve public health by providing safe water sources, building sanitation facilities, and promoting hygiene practices that prevent disease and support healthy communities.

Education & Skills Training

We increase access to quality education and vocational training, with a focus on improving school attendance and equipping youth with skills for a better future.

Gender Equality

We actively challenge gender inequality by promoting women's empowerment, supporting female leadership, and reducing the burden of unpaid labor, particularly for girls and women.

Youth Empowerment

We invest in young people through life skills development, sexual and reproductive health education, and youth-focused programs that build confidence, resilience, and opportunity.
