Food Secuity & Income Enhancement
Food security & Income enhancement
Signpost International
Since 2010, Signpost International has partnered closely with Voluntary Action for Development (VAD) to empower disadvantaged individuals, schools, and communities. Together, we design and implement programs that build resilience and capacity, enabling sustainable solutions to local challenges.
Beyond our ongoing core-funded livelihoods and agricultural initiatives, we have successfully delivered targeted projects supported by Comic Relief, the National Lottery Communities Fund, Charles Hayward, and several other trusts.
Currently, we are in the final phase of a livelihood project funded by Charles Hayward through Signpost International. This initiative focuses on supporting smallholder farmers by improving food security, increasing productivity, and boosting incomes — making a lasting difference in their lives and communities.
Christine and her husband, active farmers cultivating a green gram garden, receive support from VAD through funding provided by Signpost International.
Enhancing Food Security for Smallholder Farmers
Smallholder farmers are being equipped with improved agronomic practices to enhance food security and boost agricultural productivity.
FEATURE PROJECT
Empowering Farmers through Community Agricultural Training
“After being equipped with knowledge and skills in best agronomic practices by VAD project staff, I was motivated to be trained as a Community Agricultural Trainer (CAT). I have learnt numerous skills which I have practiced on my farm. Both the physical and resource support I got from VAD has increased my production and harvests”
